This week was super wacky!! And way sick.
So Tuesday we had exchanges. I went to Platte Woods with elder Kolacz,
my district leader. We had a pretty regular day and then we went to
contact a potential investigator at an apartment complex. This real
young guy opens the door (obviously not who we're looking for). When
we asked for the person he immediately says, "I only been here 1
munth." and continues to try to speak in broken English. So it turns
out this guy is from Brazil and speaks only Portuguese. I started
talking to him in Spanish and he responded in Portuguese and we
understood each other! (well mostly(; ) It was the weirdest thing I
have ever experienced. We had a super awesome time talking and he had
questions about the temple and told us about his Mormon friend in
Brazil. He wanted to come to church and learn more so they're going to
have some Portuguese speaking members go over and teach him! Really
awesome.(:
Then I said my goodbye's to elder Childs as he returned home to Utah.
He's such a hilarious dude. When we went to transfers everyone crowded
around the van to see their new area and companion and guess who my
new companion was? Elder freaking Kolacz. He got switched over here to
Liberty 1st, still DL, in the same district! Really shocking! We all
flipped a biscuit. He is also the dopest. I am way pumped(:
Hopefully I'll have some more exciting news about investigators this
upcoming week. We have some good stuff planned.
