We've been working really closely with Thrive Allen County lately and a reporter wanted to interview us for a story in the paper. It ended up being the front page haha. It was pretty cool. Our ward was so happy hahaha they were like proud parents (':

On Saturday we went to Matt's house, a recent convert and worked on his 80's Blazer ALL DAY. Haha we seriously got like nothing done though(': He's a car wizard and so is my companion. I am not a car wizard. So they did all the complicated stuff and just had me do the awkward time-consuming jobs, like ripping out a rusted fuel lines/hoses to the tank from underneath the truck. It was way fun though and I always learn so much about cars from those guys.

Later!

I'd been waiting to mention anything so I could show the finished product. It's finally done!

We went a few months ago to the county office looking for service opportunities, because we weren't getting to do much of anything in that department. They hooked us up with a project in Moran (tiny town 10 minutes outside of Iola). Over several weeks we converted an old gas station into a public gym! It was sick. We usually did painting and then crammed in a few odd jobs (decorating and cleaning) before the grand opening.

This room took SO much paint. We had to cover another darker color and some wallpaper.
You can't really see it, and they don't have all the equipment yet, but this is the actual gym room.

Here's the outside. The Decals on the windows were such a pain to put on in the wind.

It's definitely been my favorite service project I've done so far! The county liked us enough that they mentioned having us build a playground in a different town and I wanna do that so freakin bad!
And guess what else? During the open house they did LINE DANCING. Hahahaha it was awesome (':

We have been hammered with rain lately. I haven't seen the sun in days. It just never stops. O.o

We did take the opportunity to run outside and wash our car with rags in the rain. Hahaha. No I am not above that. (;  I thought being on the second floor would prevent any flooding issues, but our water heater is in the cellar.....which got flooded...again. Our showers are SO COLD. Screaming helps. Kinda.

We got to see our friend Tracie earlier in the week. We helped her do a little home improvement and on Monday we had a good lesson. She calls us the poster children of Christianity because Mormons do so
much service. We have awesome examples of true Christians in this church.

Lately word has gotten out that I play piano right? So I've had to play the last two zone conferences and every single district meeting since I've gotten here. On Tuesday night the sister training leaders (sister missionaries in another ward) called and were like, "heyyy elder Regis...! Can you accompany me tomorrow morning for our meeting?" I was definitely not happy. This was my second time accompanying anybody in my entire life and we only got to play it one time earlier! Luckily the song was actually really easy to play.

Exciting news! Cameron was baptized yesterday! We were able to finish all the lessons and Sunday morning he become the newest member of the church. His uncle baptized him and grandfather confirmed him. He is now part of our teacher's quorum! Fun Fact: His uncle lives in Kansas City 1st ward, my very first area. He was actually one of the first families I ever had dinner with as a missionary almost 2 years ago!
