accurate quote to describe time here. This week was a bit of a
Bad news first.
I had my first injury on the mission! Haha just kidding, it wasn't an
injury. But my companion was sewing up his bag. When he leaned up
apparently he didn't pick up all his needles...so later that day I was
walking and kicked one with my big toe. Straight in. Cmon bro. -.-
Also, really sad thing with the baptisms for last week. We had the
interviews all done, a program set up, a time, and signatures from the
parents. Then at 9:30 the night before we get a text saying that the
Jones' family grandmother said they already had a church and doesn't
want them baptized and kept them out of town for the weekend...it was
We will remain optimistic and hopefully be able to still work it out.
And we still have a few more we are planning on too so I am excited.(:
If there is one thing that makes all the difference it is attitude.
That has definitely been on my mind. Just be positive no matter what
D&C 68:6 "Wherefore, be of good cheer, and do not fear, for I the Lord
am with you, and will stand by you..."
Good news though is we met a new man named Raymond! He was in an
accident...bad. Two cars hit head on and he was right next to them
riding his bike. It compound fractured his leg, pelvic bone broken in
three places, shoulder/collar bone messed up, broke ribs, and
punctured his lungs which then filled with blood. Pretty intense. We
got him as a referral from his doctor. We visited him and talked about
families and he was so into it - started crying in the first lesson!
We got him to church this week too which was awesome. (:
We also had another young guy we've been working on named Michael. The
first time I met him he opened the door about 3 inches and we had our
short conversation like that. His grandmother is a member but that's
it in his home. Slowly he's been opening up a little more to us until
today something amazing happened! He told our bishop he wanted to pass
the sacrament and the bishop said he had to be a member, but asked if
he'd thought about it. Michael said yes and he's interested in
baptism! YESSSSS. He's been a tough cookie! Totally gonna set him on

So you know how last week we caught a possum? Well we've been trying
for a bunny. Every night we were disappointed by the empty cage. So
Saturday I said half jokingly, "We should just blast one." And my
companion got real excited, ran inside, and came out with a slingshot
and metal balls. Haha I really had didn't think he was going to hit
one, but we spotted one in the field, he pulls back...THWACK! And the
bunny starts running in circles like crazy. I thought it was just
scared..until it started flopping around. It was jumping like three
feet in the air doing backflips and spinning. So for Sunday dinner we had
fried rabbit legs and Tampico. (: Also got 4 good luck charms from the feet.
Pretty dope. It was a good day.
