Today is the last day in the CCM! It's a p day! (woot woot bonus). Tomorrow I will get up at 1:30 am to start the trip to Missouri. We arrive in Texas for a layover and will be in Missouri sometime in the afternoon. I am so stoked. Though I can tell, this whole week has been the calm before the storm.Oh and I heard the dopest quote in testimony meeting.
Ships are safe in the Harbor, but that's not what they're meant for.
Our Hermanas left on Sunday night. They are going to be so fantastic.Their Spanish and spiritual levels are insane! So yesterday, Elder Conley and I had a full day with language, teaching, and study by ourselves with the Maestros..It was super weird. Our afternoon teacher actually had Elder Conley and I go to other newer districts and teach them Spanish lessons. I felt a little awkward but it helped me realize how much my Spanish has improved here. I am by no means good yet but I can see the Lord blessing me a lot. Thank you all so much for your prayers as well!
Speaking of which, I'm sure some of you are wondering what happened with the virus! Well..Things seem to be back to normal! Everyone (nearly) is out of the infirmary and neither my companion or I got it. Thank you all so much for your prayers. It was very nasty stuff and I am very grateful I was able to stay healthy, especially right before the departure date.
Tomorrow will be the first time contacting people in the real world. I'm freaking out man. Actually not really..I am more just excited to share the good news with everybody. Oddly I'm more nervous to contact in English than Spanish. It will be a really big disappointment to see people reject it though..That's the only part that bums me out..But the gospel brings so much light to people. Always stay positive!(:
Other swanky quote.
No growth in the comfort zone. No comfort in the growth zone.
My spiritual thought comes from Helaman; the beginning part of chapter 5. This is where Nefi and Lehi are being told the reasons for their names. Their father says he named them this so they would remember their ancestors; that every time they remembered their names they would remember the great men who came before them. I really love this application to our lives. We all have great people come before us and we bear their name. For me, it's Regis. I think of the great father, uncles/aunts, cousins, and ancestors who carry that name too. I also like thinking how there is another Elder Regis serving right now right alongside me heading to S. America. But the greatest name we all bear, is the name of Christ. We took his name upon us at baptism. Always do your best to live up to that name and when you think of your name, never forget that Christ's name is right with you!!
I love you all a ton! I look forward to updating you from adventures from the field.
Mucho Amor,
Elder Regis
