Hola! ¿Como están todo? ¡Este semana fue muy buena!
We had a great week(:
So I think I'm gonna start with my spiritual side first this time, and
then finish with the more random/funny stuff.
This week was great. We had lots of lessons and service. We weed
wacked yards, reinforced swing sets, and moved logs and furniture. I
am also going to be teaching a guy from Cuba tonight who speaks only
Spanish and I am super pumped!!
On Sunday we 7 @sac! Gotta be breaking records. Haha actually I don't
know, but it was still cool. The two families are gearing up to be
baptized this Saturday so I am sooo stoked to dunk people. We've been
blessed a ton.
I've had lots of thoughts this week. But there is this one video we
have been sharing with people often lately. It's called Daily Bread.
It's a three part Mormon message with Elder Christoffersen (go check
it out). In one of the videos he talks about our daily physical need
for sustenance. He relates it to our daily spiritual need for
sustenance. He says it much better than I could, but we can't go for
too long without spiritual nourishment and think it won't be
detrimental. We need it every day. Cada día. Often it doesn't seem
like it does much, but it does. Through our daily efforts we remain
strong.
But definitely watch the videos if you haven't seen it(:
So let's see...noteworthy stories..
I guess this isn't really a story but it is kind of a pain. Every time
I walk into a store around here people ALWAYS act like I work there!
"Excuse me, where are the organic tomatoes?" How am I supposed to know
woman?? -.- apparently there's a big store around here (haven't
visited it yet) where all the employees wear white shirts, ties, and a
black name tag.
For reals. So everybody here is trained to look for that when they
need something...whoah. Revelation. Totally gonna use that to contact.
"I'm sorry ma'am I don't work here, but I can help you find eternal
life if you'd like." Boom.
Anyway after that rant.
Our downstairs neighbor lent us a trap for catching critters..we put
it out in some bushes across the street, with food and it all loaded.
And guess what? Totally caught a possum! Freaking sweet. They're ugly
tho and we didn't want to keep it so we let it go. There are bunnies
everywhere around here so that's what we're aiming for. My companion
wants to skin one in our kitchen sink. Pray we catch one (': haha just
kidding, but I will send rabbit feet in the mail if we get one for
good luck charms. :D
Haha so earlier this week we were teaching the word of wisdom to one
of the families preparing for their blacktisms. We were going over
stuff we weren't supposed to drink. We asked them if they were
confused on anything and they started asking stuff like, "Can we have
soda?" "What about lemonade?" And we're like yes of course! And then
Cory (he's 11) stands up on his chair and gets way excited and says,
"GRAPE JUICE?!"
I lost it. I was dying from laughter.
It was just too much black.
I love it here.
Have a great week everyone(:
