Hi everybody! Weekly update. Got some fun stories from the week(: and
we have a car this week. (Awww yeah) 2015 Toyota Corolla. Super nice.
As by way of news, the IPads are super dope and this week we are
starting phase two - area book planner. We're taking all paper and
going digital. That's cool and all..but now we have to type in
information about loads of people, from a binder thicker than my quad,
for hours on end this week. Ick :( not excited. But it'll be cool when
it's all running.
This week there was a homecoming for Elder Reid. He gave a fantastic
talk about following Christ. After we went over to his house. His dad
is the NFL football coach for the Kansas City chiefs! Super crazy
house O.o but their family was so kind and down to earth! Really cool.
Also we have a 6 hospitals in our area..so we get hit up a lot to give
blessings. I gave my first one there this week and it was really
awesome. Her name was Katrice, and she had health complications from
giving birth :/ But blessings are powerful. Even if God's will is
different than ours for that person, they are always comforted. (:
Anyway story time.
Think I'm gonna title this section of stories: Crazy Missourians.
Maybe it'll stick and become a weekly highlight(':
So last week we were driving to a stake center and had just exited the
highway. Then out of no where this mini van turns down the off ramp,
blowing past us and the wrong way signs! My companion and I were like
"What the?!" So we looked back and the dude makes it all the way to
the freeway before he realizes he's driving into oncoming traffic like
a fool. The he stops right before he gets hit, sits there for a good
while, then makes like an 8 point turn back onto the off ramp. Crazy
Missourians.
The next day we went to visit a less active, but he wasn't there so as
we're walking to the car I see this 70 year old, half naked dude, in a
wheelchair behind a screen door waving at me. Slightly confused I
waved back and my companion starts walking up to him. Turns out he
meets with missionaries a lot. We sat down at his table and he's got a
bunch of switch blades, bullets, and a loaded pistol laying out. I was
slightly nervous hahaha(': but he let us play with his switch blades
so that was cool. Super cool guy though.
Investigators
This past Saturday was awesome. The sister missionaries have been
teaching a guy named Matt and his girlfriend. They both accepted the
gospel, got married, and Matt got baptized Saturday! It was so
freaking sick. The guy is so cool. After he came out of the water he
just hugged our ward mission leader and cried in the font. It was a
cool experience. I'm way excited for my investigators to hit their
dates(:
THE GOSPEL MAKES ME SO HAPPY.
