TRANSFERS!! Ha. More like banishment.
I have been transferred from my city life from KC1st to a new place! I also got a new companion, too. Oddly enough, they are actually shutting down the area for elders. Only sisters will be there now (no idea in heck why, we were so busy there). We spent the last lunch together as a zone.
Welcome to area 2. The boons.
I've been assigned to serve in the Maryville Ward of Far West Missouri! Maryville is the furthest north in the mission that you can go! We are right next to both Nebraska and Iowa. The place is legit in like the middle of no where. 2 hour drive into farm country to get here. It's so cool.
My companion's name is Elder T. Brinkerhoff. We actually came out at the same time too, but he's been here his whole mission so far.
So a bit about Maryville. It's quite small. About 75 people at church in total. In fact our elders quorum is us, the president, and one guy who was baptized a couple months back.
There's also a ton of farmers here! And service that we do. The other day we chopped firewood all morning, moved trees, then helped a bit feeding and petting horses. I feel more like a cowboy than a missionary sometimes hahaha. I will have to take some pictures soon!
We get to drive a new Chevrolet Equinox out here and it's pretty nice. We have full time car since some of the houses are so spread out its a half hour highway drive to get there...
Also our new flat is huge compared to my last apartment! We have two bedrooms, large kitchen, our own washer/dryer, a garage, and we each have our own bathroom. The church hooked it up real nice.
Maryville is also a college town. Northwest Missouri State University is here. It's cool to drive through campus and stuff. Weird seeing so many people my age though.
We have some families that we are working with but I will talk a little more about them next time because I'm still getting to know them myself..(:
Im doing great myself. Wouldn't want to be anywhere else. Thanks for everybody's support and love.
