Hey friends and family!!
This week marked the end of my teenage life...It was an awesome birthday. Thanks for everybody with the letters, emails, and everything else! You're the greatest!
It was actually the ward's Fall festival the same day. It was a chili cook-off. Yum. The whole ward actually sang to me too...haha! The best part of the whole night though was the "Hoe-Down." They had dancing! My companion and I were partners (bromance) and we did the Virginia Reel and executed it perfectly as lead couple. (': Then there were all sorts of other line dances (Cupid Shuffle, Electric Slide, Thriller) and it was hecka fun. I helped some others learn the dances (all those high school and stake dances came in handy). We got out of there sweaty and gross but worth it.
We have been finding people to teach like crazy lately! So cool! We found for 3 weeks in a row and a lot of it has been in non-traditional ways. We got a referral from the sisters in Liberty 1st ward (my last area) about some people that live in our area they talked to while they were hanging out in Liberty. They're young: a couple & a friend with a newborn. We went over the first time and it was way awkward. O.o Especially with one of the girls sending some interesting signals...Anywho we went back Sunday night with a ward missionary and taught them lesson 1. It was a sick lesson!! Did not expect it at all but they were really open to it and had good questions.
During fast/testimony meeting this week a lady bore her testimony about how so often we think our friends "wouldn't fit" with the Mormon Church. They don't look the part. She was a convert and said she didn't really "fit" at first either but said we shouldn't categorize our friends into people that will or won't accept the gospel. Anyone can! I really enjoyed it especially with those 3 people because the first time we went I instantly thought they'd never be receptive with the type of lifestyle they live. Yet we had such a good experience with them.
