Well this week...I could compare to the inside of a jelly donut inside
a toaster oven inside Satan's mouth. Apparently we've been in a "heat
dome" with the index hitting like 115 degrees the other day. But that
didn't stop us from biking for hours all day e'ryday.
Sadly I had to pay the price and got some sort of Heat
exhaustion/fever. I was freezing cold and super achy...but I made it.
Plus I got tan. 👍 and we have a car next week. I also got my Raleigh
hybrid bike out of storage so I can shred all over town.
Not sure if I mentioned this, but president Ames, the mission
president from the Fort Worth Texas mission got home, and was assigned
to be our ward mission leader! It's like having President Vest
dedicate 100% of time straight into our Ward and us. I am tripping
through the roof. We had a couple meetings with him and I feel like
I'm talking to a Super Sayan. This area is about to get LIT.
Wednesday a family we've been trying to teach missed their lesson for
a 3rd week in a row. I was getting a little pessimistic about the
whole deal and during weekly planning kept thinking about how we
probably should move on. But we had set certain goals and my companion
seemed pretty convinced we could hit them and as we were discussing
them out of the blue the mother texts us and tells us she had been
trying to get ahold of us but wasn't able to due to phone issues and
that her house was over 100 degrees because their AC didn't work so
they had to leave but that she really wants us to come back this week.
So I got a flick to the forehead about having more confidence in
people and especially in agreeing with the spirit when it says we can
make something happen. Even if I don't know how.
Almost forgot, we totally got to go help on a small farm Saturday
night! It was sick. We went and helped milk cows and herd them through
different fences. This one cow was trying to escape through the fence
so I freaking put it in a headlock and was wrestling it! Then it
stepped on my foot and that was surprisingly painful O.O But still
felt like a man.
